This Refund Policy lays out how we handle cancellations and refunds for bookings made through our site. Cancellations and Refunds for Ryokan Bookings
When you book a ryokan or travel package through DaiichiHotelsLLC, we work hard to coordinate with our partner inns to ensure a smooth experience. Here’s how refunds work if you need to cancel:
Cancellations 30+ Days Before Check-In: Cancel at least 30 days before your arrival, and you’ll get a full refund, minus a small processing fee (about 3% of the booking total) to cover payment processing costs. We’ll process it within 7 business days.
Cancellations 15–29 Days Before Check-In: Cancel within this window, and you’ll receive a 50% refund of the booking total, minus the processing fee. Some ryokans have stricter policies, so we’ll let you know if this applies.
Cancellations Less Than 15 Days Before Check-In: Sorry, no refunds for cancellations within 15 days, as ryokans hold your spot and often can’t rebook on short notice. We’ll try to work with you for a credit toward a future stay, subject to availability.
No-Shows: If you don’t show up without canceling, we can’t offer a refund or credit, but contact us anyway—we’ll see what we can do.
To cancel, email us or call, and we’ll confirm within 48 hours. Refunds go back to your original payment method, though it might take 5–10 business days to hit your account, depending on your bank.
Non-Refundable Bookings
Some bookings, like special festival packages or discounted rates, are marked as non-refundable at booking time. We’ll make this super clear when you reserve. If you cancel these, no refund’s possible, but we can sometimes offer a credit for a future trip—just ask us.
Changes to Bookings
Want to tweak your dates or room type? We’ll do our best to accommodate changes, subject to availability and the ryokan’s policies. Contact us at least 15 days before check-in, and we’ll let you know if there’s any fees (like a price difference for peak dates). Changes within 15 days might not be possible, but we’ll try to sort it out.
Refunds for Canceled Services
If we or our partner ryokans cancel your booking (say, due to unforeseen issues like maintenance), you’ll get a full refund, no questions asked, or we’ll offer to rebook you at a similar property at no extra cost. We’ll reach out ASAP if this happens—rare, but we’ve got your back.
Issues During Your Stay
If something’s off during your stay—like a room not matching the description or a service not delivered—let us know within 24 hours of check-in. We’ll work with the ryokan to fix it or, if it’s a big issue, offer a partial refund or credit, depending on the situation. Your satisfaction’s key, so don’t hesitate to speak up.
